Dr. Gunther took over ownership of Champlain Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Larry Larrow in 1995. Senior-most veterinarian on staff. Received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in 1983. When not at work, Bill enjoys playing his guitars, taking cruises, and spending time with his wife, Elaine.
Dr. Marak moved to Vermont from Missouri in August 2017 with her husband, Paul. She became a co-owner of Champlain Veterinary Clinic in April 2020. Sarah received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri in 2015. She is an avid runner and hiker in her spare time and also enjoys triathlons and CrossFit. Since moving to Vermont, Dr. Marak has completed two Half-Ironmans. She loves walking her two dogs, Bandit and Sirius, as well as sneaking a few belly rubs from her two cats, Mad-Eye and Grindelwald.
A life-long Vermonter, Dr. Sonya grew up in Essex and went to UVM. She accomplished her life-long dream of becoming a veterinarian by graduating from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is grateful to be practicing medicine in Vermont and has a special interest in behavioral and internal medicine and establishing long lasting relationships with clients. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sonya enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors.
Alicia has been with us since 2020. When not at work, she loves spending quality time with her husband, Mark, and her six kids. She also enjoys walking with her dogs, Oreo, Finn, and Bean. She can frequently be found in her garden, at the swimming hole, or at the gym.
Champlain Veterinary Clinic has employed Pam since 2004. In her free time, Pam enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their four kids. Zubi and Beaker, Pam's French Bulldogs, keep her on the go with playing fetch and snuggling. Pam also loves reading, traveling, music, and movies.
Mallory Bohannon started at Champlain Veterinary Clinic in 2020. When not at work, Mallory loves spending time with her family and pets, painting, and cooking. She and her fiancé have three dogs and two cats, keeping them very busy at home.
Grace previously worked in shelter medicine for 3 years before joining our team at the tail end of 2021. She discovered her biggest passion is caring for and helping animals. Grace is currently studying to become a certified veterinary technician and has completed her Fear Free Certification. In her free time, she loves photography, trail riding with her horses, attempting to read with her cats, hiking, and fishing.
Micaela has worked at Champlain Veterinary Clinic since July 2022. Currently, she is studying to become a certified veterinary technician. Micaela has previously worked in the medical field with humans but discovered that caring for animals is her passion. Micaela resides in Swanton with her boyfriend, Parker, and her daughter, Cecilia, and border collie, Brewer. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her daughter, and keeping her dog out of trouble.
Cathy has been working at Champlain Veterinary Clinic for 30 years, initially working with one of the founders, Dr. Larry Larrow. She enjoys working with all the creatures, great and small, but is especially fond of cats. In her spare time, Cathy loves gardening, walking her Dalmatian, Tristan, and spending time with her family.
